400-Plus Student Council Members Attend Conference at Berry Center

Sept. 28, 2016—Dean Middle School hosted the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District 7-13 fall meeting at the Berry Center on Sept. 26, welcoming more than 400 students from more than 20 Houston-area middle schools.

Student council members learned about the Donate for Life state project, participated in students share sessions and enjoyed the keynote speaker, Patrick “Pac Man” Perez. 

CFISD schools in attendance included Goodson, Cook, Thornton, Kahla, Dean and Campbell middle schools.

“The state theme calls for students to ‘Dare to Dream. Dare to Do.’ Pac Man Perez did a fantastic job of showing our members that they need to seek out opportunities, step out of their comfort zones and make a difference,” said Michele Jackson, Dean small learning community campus content instructional specialist and student council sponsor.
