Dr. Heather Bergman
Nov. 17, 2015—Dr. Heather Bergman, the associate principal at Cypress Springs High School, was named the new principal at Dean Middle School on Nov. 17. Dr. Bergman replaces Chris Hecker, who was named the inaugural principal for Cypress Park High School on Oct. 19.
Dr. Bergman has 15 years of experience in education, including six in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Her career began as a classroom teacher for four years at San Antonio Jefferson before she moved to CFISD as a teacher and instructional coach for two years. Dr. Bergman transferred to Diboll ISD, working two years as a classroom teacher and instructional coach, before being named director of curriculum and instruction at Woden ISD. She served four years in that role prior to returning to CFISD as the director of instruction at Cypress Springs in 2012. She was soon promoted to her current position as associate principal.
Dr. Bergman earned her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Houston and her Master of Science in mathematics from Texas A&M University. She received her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
“I feel extreme blessed and honored to be selected to serve and lead as principal of Dean Middle School,” said Dr. Bergman. “This is a campus rich in history and tradition. I hope to help build on the great things happening at Dean as I forge new relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. I am proud to be a Mustang.”
