7th Grade

Everything you need to know!

7th Grade - Electives

7th Graders are able to have up to two electives in their schedule. The image below shows which electives are offered at Dean for the 2023-2024 school year.

Once an elective has been selected, the likelihood of it being changed is very low. This is due to seat counts and teacher availability.

Some electives are for high school credit so we highly encourage our students to take them when they have the opportunity.

7th Grade Intervention Classes

These classes are to support students in closing their academic gaps. Having one of these classes takes the place of one or both electives on their schedule.

7th Grade Announcements

The 2024-2025 Course Selection process has started! Students were given their pink  course selection sheets on Thursday, February 15th during their advisory class. Please complete the form with your student and return it by Friday, February 23rd. This is the only way to document the elective courses your student is interested in taking in 8th grade. Failure to return this form will result in their electives being selected for them. If you have any questions, you can contact the current 7th grade counselor, Ms. Gaines, via email at lakeysa.gaines@cfisd.net.If your child was absent or did not receive the form, they can pick one up in the Counselor's Office (Room 102).
